 |
Interlude, Inc. would like to thank all of you who support our mission to help people with mental illness achieve independence in their community. Below are some highlights from the previous fiscal year (2008-2009). |
Client Services:
In fiscal year 2008-2009, Interlude served 41 clients. We are happy to report that 78% our clients moved to less intensive levels of care. Some clients needed more intensive services due to medical, psychiatric and substance use related issues.
Program Updates fiscal year 2009:
Intensive Residential Support Program (aka Condo Program)
Here are a few highlights from the Condo Progam for the last fiscal year:
- Clients participated in helping plant and harvest a Community Garden at a public location in Danbury
- Five of the Condo clients have been working actively with job coaches, to move towards employment
- Four of the Condo clients were approved to move on to their own apartments
- This along with many small steps towards recovery made by Condo clients throughout the year, with the help of Interlude's personalized Case Management services
Intensive Residential Recovery Program
The Recovery Program serves people who not only have a mental illness, but a substance abuse disorder.
Here are a few special milestones for Recovery:
- The Recovery Program, one of only a few of its kind in CT, celebrated 15 years of service in 2009!
- One client is celebrating over 2 years of sobriety, and now comes to staff when she is feeling suicidal rather than hiding it
- Staff run several theraputic groups including a group that helps clients cope with the symptoms of mental illness in healthy ways
- The Program was able to implement a new security system, free of charge, that will provide greater safety to staff & clients
Outreach Program
The Outreach program has interacted with its 24 clients over the course of the past year in positive ways, helping them towards the final step - living on their own without Interlude's help.
Below are just a few highlights of positive steps for Outreach clients:
- 2 Outreach clients graduated to Case Management Program
- One client is celebrating 23 years of sobriety
- One client started a new volunteer position after being out of work for MANY years
- Outreach had a client who came in November 2008 who was struggling with severe depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, etc. and had a disabled child at home. With Outreach support she was able to tap into increased benefits and community supports and she relocated to a beautiful affordable housing complex. She is so much happier, more involved in life outside of her home, taking classes to get her GED and is now graduating to Case Management Program. She is like a different person!

Fiscal Performance:
Below you will find our financial reports/audits for fiscal year 2009.
Interlude Audit FY 2009
Interlude continues to seek funding from various sources, including donors like you, to continue its mission. We appreciate for your generous gifts, in any amount. We have been facing a financial challenge this fiscal year (2010) that began during the economic crisis's landfall. Like many non profits, we are facing funding cuts, a very competetive grant funding environment, and a decrease in giving overall. We are progressing in getting support to help us make it through this fiscal year, but we look to our dedicated donors for your gifts in any amount, to assit.
Thank you for helping us deliver hope.
